In this course students will learn and work together with new words from real life and school subjects daily. We will play indvidual and group word games to reinforce our expanding vocabulary.
This course meets the Minnesota State Standard:
Word Recognition, Analysis and Fluency
Vocabulary Expansion: The student will apply a variety of strategies such as using a dictionary, understanding context clues, and applying knowledge of roots, prefixes and suffixes to expand their vocabulary and use new words in writing.
Speaking and Listening: The student will demonstrate understanding and communicate effectively through listening and speaking.
